As Halloween approaches, it's time to bring out the spooky treats that will send shivers down your spine. One frightfully delicious snack that perfectly captures the spirit of the season is Halloweeners. These delectable morsels feature mini frankfurters or sausages, wrapped in crispy, flaky puff pastry shaped like adorable little pigs.
With their eerie appearance and savory flavours, these guys are guaranteed to be a hit at any Halloween party. Served with a side of blood-red ajvar or ketchup for dipping, these spooky treats will leave your guests squealing with delight.
Cut the puff pastry into strings, then wrap 2 strings in opposite direction around each mini frankfurter.
Spread them over a lined baking sheet and brush them with a mix of milk and oil. Bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C/356°F for 10 minutes until golden.
Glue the edible eyes with a bit of ajvar or ketchup.
