Turquoise Smoothie Bowl

It’s always worth having a couple of frozen bananas in the freezer for a healthy breakfast like this!

Just two ingredients and this pretty coloured bowl is ready. But it’s not only pretty and creamy, it’s very good for you as well!

The Aztecs also used spirulina to treat various diseases, and legends say that the kingdom’s messengers used the algae to sustain their marathon runs. Modern research supports many of the alleged benefits of taking spirulina, and continues to study its potential for treating health concerns.

Research shows spirulina may have antioxidant, pain-relief, anti-inflammatory, and brain-protective properties, and much more.

Throw in frozen bananas into a blender and blend until nice and creamy. If you're having trouble mixing it, just add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water or milk.

Add spirulina and give it another mix until it's combined completely.

Transfer into a bowl and top with some fresh bananas and toppings of your choice.
