Oreo Alphabet Cake

In the ever-evolving world of baking, alphabet cakes stand out as a testament to creativity and personal expression. These whimsical confections are not just desserts, they are edible works of art that tell a story, celebrate special moments and bring joy to both the eyes and the taste buds.

While alphabet cakes have surged in popularity in recent years, their roots can be traced back to the timeless tradition of personalizing celebrations. The idea of using food to convey messages is nothing new – from heart-shaped cookies on Valentine's Day to elaborate wedding cakes adorned with monograms. Alphabet cakes, however, take personalization to the next level, allowing bakers to spell out names, sentiments or even phrases in a delicious and visually stunning way.

The charm of alphabet cakes lies in their dual appeal. On one hand, they are a visual delight, with each letter or number meticulously crafted and adorned with vibrant decorations. Fresh fruits, edible flowers, shimmering sprinkles and delicate macarons often grace the tops of these cakes, turning them into true showstoppers. On the other hand, they are a culinary delight, offering layers of moist cake or biscuit-style bases, luscious fillings and rich flavours that make every bite a memorable experience.

And Oreo Alphabet Cake is a delightful twist on the classic alphabet cake, combining the deep, chocolatey goodness of Oreos with the personalized touch of letter-shaped cakes that everyone is going to love!

This recipe is going to be enough for two 3-layered letters/numbers, so if you're doing just one digit, or more layers, adjust the ingredients accordingly.

Whisk together flour, baking powder, a teaspoon of salt and cocoa powders until completely combined, then add it into the batter and on low speed mix until incorporated.

Draw the desired shape, number or letter on a piece of baking paper, then cut it and place on top of each rolled out dough and cut each one.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/356°F for 10 minutes, then leave to cool down and harden at room temperature for 20 minutes.

With a mixer beat the whipping cream until soft peaks, then add mascarpone cheese, icing sugar and vanilla extract, and continue mixing until stiff peaks. Transfer the cream into a piping bag, then pipe the cream over the first base. Carefully place the second base on top and again pipe the cream over the base. Now place the last base and pipe the last layer of cream. Repeat for the second cake and refrigerate for an hour.
